Artania cruise ship was originally built in 1984 (in Helsinki) as the MS Royal Princess for Princess Cruises. She was transferred to P&O cruise fleet in 2005 and was renamed to Artemis cruise liner. She sailed with P&O Cruises until Apr 2011, when she was moved to Phoenix Reisen as Artania.
The Artania cruise liner is managed by Phoenix Reisen Cruises. At the time she was launched, 1984, the cruise ship was the most innovative vessel in the world introducing public space on the lower decks with blocks of staterooms over them. This made her the 1st cruise vessel with all outside rooms and the 1st one to secure standard cabins with balconies. The vessel is kid-free.
Dining options on board are 3 restaurants, a number of bars and other eating places. The other facilities on board Artania are a library, spa center, a whirlpool, 2 swimming pools, show lounge and a cinema.
