Marco Polo cruise ship is hardly the most impressive cruise liner in the world, but only on paper. At just more than 22,000 tons, it is not big; at 40-plus years old, it surely is not new. And without so modern fripperies as balcony rooms, it is not fancy. But to dismiss this vessel on those counts is to miss the point wholly.

Marco Polo voyage shows that the cruise liner still has what it takes to please discerning cruisers. It is in wonderful condition, besides its age and the food is really good. An adult-only vessel, Marco Polo has a pleasingly mature atmosphere. And of course there is the delight of being on a vessel that seems sized for the cosiness of travelers, not company accountants.
