04 April 2024Coast Guard Medevacs

On April 4, 2024, a 25-year-old female crew (Cuban dancer) suffered serious injuries and had to be medevaced from the ship.

The emergency medical evacuation was conducted at ~10:30 pm Greece time (~19:30 UTC) while the ship was navigating near Karpathos Island.

For the mission was dispatched a Super Puma helicopter crew from the Hellenic Air Force's (Greece's air force) base on Rhodes Island. The injured crew was part of the ship's entertainment team and required urgent surgery after falling and sustaining severe injuries. She was hoisted/airlifted from the helideck and flown to a hospital on Rhodes.

The incident occurred during the 4-day "Iconic Aegean Cruise" (itinerary April 1-5, roundtrip from Piraeus-Athens) visiting Mykonos Island (Apr 1-2/overnight), Kusadasi-Ephesus Turkey (Apr 2), Patmos Island (Apr 2), Rhodes Island (Apr 3), Heraklion Crete (Apr 4), and Santorini Island (Apr 4).

20 December 2007Propulsion / Power Loss

On December 22, 2007, while en-route Genoa (Italy) to Palma de Mallorca (Spain), the ship suffered a propulsion failure. The vessel had just left the Genoa shipyard (after completing a scheduled drydock) and had to return back for repairs. The next scheduled Transatlantic cruise from Palma to the Caribbean) was cancelled.
