  • Fire - 2016 (during construction, renamed from "Emerald Belle")

01 February 2016Fire Accident

On February 1, 2016, while still under construction, the almost ready riverboat (originally named "Emerald Belle") was docked at Den Breejen Shipyard (Holland) when a fire broke out on board. Despite the firefighters' efforts, damages were significant. No injuries were reported. The vessel was scheduled for launch in April 2016.

Another riverboat (ordered from the sister-company Scenic Cruises) was also under construction and located nearby. The ship was quickly moved away, thus suffering only minor (exterior paint) damages.

After the accident was decided to be built a brand new vessel (named "Emerald Destiny") with a re-scheduled launch in April 2017.
