22 April 2014Structural and Technical Issues

(Oscar Wilde ferry) In the afternoon on April 22, due to technical issues (with the radar system), the shipowner canceled the Cherbourg France-Rosslare Ireland crossing. The ship remained berthed in Cherbourg for 3 overnights until an engineer and replacement parts arrived on April 24.

Reportedly, there was an onboard passenger protest, after the shipowner failed to provide alternate ferry arrangements back to Ireland. Most passengers were transferred on alternative routes, arriving in Rosslare in the afternoon on April 23. Around 50 passengers decided to wait on the ship and after the repairs to depart from Cherbourg.

26 October 2012Ship Collision / Allision

(Oscar Wilde ferry) On October 26, 2012, in Rosslare Europort (Ireland), during docking, the Stena Europe ferry collided with Oscar Wilde. No injuries were reported. Stena ship's crew and passengers were safe, but the return crossing was canceled. Oscar Wilde sustained only minor damages and departed at 11 pm.

02 February 2010Fire Accident

(Oscar Wilde ferry) On February 2, 2010, in the evening, upon leaving Port Falmouth England, the ship suffered an engine room fire (in the generator room). The vessel anchored approx 2 ml / 3 km from the port, where the fire was extinguished by the crew, and without any injuries.

The ship returned back to port for investigation and drydock repairs. It re-entered the Ireland-France service (Rosslare-Cherbourg route) on March 7.

15 July 1999Ship Grounding

(Kronprins Harald ferry) On July 15, 1999, the ship ran aground in Oslofjord (Norway). Following the grounding, the vessel was diverted to Moss Norway, where all passengers were disembarked. Then it headed to the Nordseewerke shipyard (Emden, Germany) for repairs. The service was resumed on July 19.
