  • collision - 2013 (with Mein Schiff 2 cruise ship in port Bari Italy)

16 September 2013Ship Collision / Allision

On September 16, 2013, in port Bari Italy, the ferry collided with TUI's cruise ship Mein Schiff 2 (now Marella Explorer 2). The collision was due to strong winds (up to 45 mph / 75 kph), causing the ferry to break moorings, drift and hit the cruise ship. Ferry's bulbous bow penetrated the liner's hull starboard (fortunately, above the waterline). No injuries were reported.
