Norwegian Sun cabins review

NCL Sun cabins for disabled passengers (wheelchair accessible rooms) are in the following categories (with deck location): Balcony staterooms (BD-deck 8-Viking), Oceanview (OE-deck 5-Atlantic) and Interior/Inside cabins ID-deck 8-Viking, and IA-decks 9-Fjord and 10-Norway).

Follows the review of Norwegian Sun staterooms as amenities, furniture and included (complimentary) services:

  • All Norwegian Sun cabins as amenities have sleeping area (bedside tables, 2 lower beds convertible to queen, plus additional/optional beds to accommodate more passengers), en-suite bathroom (WC, sink, shower stall, bath products, hairdryer), lounge/sitting area (wardrobe /ample closet space, vanity table, chair, flat TV, safe, refrigerator, direct-dial phone), individual air-conditioning.
  • All Suites and Balcony cabins feature floor-ceiling sliding doors opening to a private veranda with lounge furniture (1 round table with 2 chairs or sunloungers).
  • You can see all the furniture details on the NCL Sun cabin floor plans in the table above.
  • Bonus amenities / perks for Suite accommodations are: butler/concierge service, priority services (check-in, debarkation, ports of call tendering, dining reservations), in-room dining (plus evening treats), special room service menu, complimentary specialty restaurant dining (breakfast, lunch), complimentary mini-bar, bottled water, luxury cotton robes, deluxe bedding (pillow-top mattresses, pillow menu, slippers, towels), Cappuccino-Espresso coffee maker..
  • Owners Suites have separate living and dining rooms, bedroom (queen bed), balcony (with whirlpool), bathroom (whirlpool bathtub, shower).
  • Both Romance Suites are located on Viking Deck 8, named “Sun Suite” (portside /number 8003) and “Sky Suite” (starboard /number 8203). Each of them has large bathroom (with whirlpool, separate WC), large walk-in closet (with vanity), combined bedroom-living room (with round-shaped dining table, double sofa bed, queen bed /convertible to twins), private veranda.
  • NCL Sky’s Penthouse Suite cabins vary by category. SF have whirlpool bathtub, and SG is a modified balcony cabin for disabled guests (both types with private balconies and 2 lower beds /convertible).
  • Mini Suites (aka Studio Suites) have 2 lower beds (convertible), bathroom (bathtub, shower).
  • Balcony, Oceanview and Inside cabins have 2 lower beds (convertible), bathroom (shower).
  • Ocean-view cabins differ by the window type. With Picture Window views are categories O1, O2, OA, and OB. Porthole Window cabins (with 1 round-shaped window) are categories OF, OG, OH, OI, OJ, and OX.
  • IMPORTANT: Since May 2015, the Norwegian Cruise Line charges US$7,95 for room service dining. This is an extra service charge implemented fleetwide (including on the NCL Sun ship). Passengers exempted from the new (uncommon for the industry) room service fee are only the occupants of “The Haven” suites. Still, as an exception, all passengers can order (for free) their room-service morning coffee and Continental Breakfast. After implementing the new service charge, NCL upgraded the room service menu, adding more hot food items for Breakfast and a wider food & drinks selection (available for ordering 24 hours a day).
