ms AmaVida (built 2013) is the AmaWaterways Douro river cruise ship in Portugal. Just like most of the top-luxury river cruise ships in Portugal, the AMA Vida ship is a partnership between the AmaWaterways company and the Portuguese line and tour operator DouroAzul (the boat’s owner and co-operator). MS AmaVida is a modified design Concerto-class APT river ship made specifically for cruising on Douro River. The boat’s unique design resulted in elegance, spacious accommodations, lots of public space and some really unique for a river ship features. Also operated by APT, Vida ship is one of the top choices for a luxury Douro River cruising all-inclusive experience.

The list of other Douro River cruise lines ships also features Emerald Radiance (Emerald Waterways), Queen Isabel (Uniworld), Scenic Azure (Scenic Tours) and the Viking Cruises ships HemmingTorgil and Osfrid.

MS AmaVida cruise ship deck plan has a total of 53 staterooms for 106 passengers served by 30 crew/staff, 4 passenger decks, 1 swimming pool, helipad, 1 glass elevator (connecting the all 3 cabin decks).

The AMA ship Vida also features the rarely found (even on luxury river cruise ships) spa/sauna and pool for guests to fully enjoy the picturesque Douro River AmaVida itinerary. Despite her smaller capacity, the APT AmaVida boat offers plenty of public space, with a variety of dining and wellness facilities found only on biggest river ships.

AmaVida cruise itineraries are out of Porto, with departures from either Lisbon (Portugal) or Madrid (Spain). The itinerary route is through the Douro River Valley – the Portugal’s wine region known as Alto Douro.
