Review of Aurora deck 12 (Lido-Pool-Spa)

  • The fore-located Navigation Bridge and the adjacent Captain’s Suite and officers quarters are inaccessible for passengers.
  • Riviera Pool & Bar area (the bar is open from noon to 5 p.m.) The 2nd largest pool onboard is 8.45m by 5.7m by 1.1m deep, the overflow forms a waterfall running to the next level that features a whirlpool spa.
  • Lido Grill (replaced the Sidewalk Cafe, offers Costa coffee and "Grab and Go" counter, open for breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to noon, lunch from noon to 4:00 p.m.)
  • Aurora’s Oasis Spa & Salon complex (Treatment Rooms, Beauty Salon, complimentary Sauna and Steam Room) offers a wide variety of treatments from massage, acupuncture and facials to nail and hair services. Prices range from GBP10 for lip/chin waxing to GBP177 for Elemis Absolute Spa Ritual. Gentleman's Spa offers a range of grooming services. Some examples of treatments include: Facials ranging from 24 Karat Gold facials (GBP230) to Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift facial, heated stone massage, reflexology or deep tissue massage (GBP79 each). Detoxifying treatments replace toxins with vitamins and nutritious minerals, along with wellness therapies such as acupuncture (GBP89). For male guests, gentlemen’s spa treatments feature deep cleanse grooming treatments (GBP49) and shaves, de-stress treatments (GBP69), facials (GBP69), pedicures (GBP29) and manicures (GBP19).
  • Crystal Pool & Bar area (covered with Skydome retractable glass roof, 2 Whirlpools, outdoor poolside bar/drinks, ice cream, open 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) The ship's largest pool measures 8.2m by 5.7m, and is 1.2m-2.1m deep, available to all passengers.
  • Horizon Restaurant (lido buffet restaurant/self service, complimentary; open for Breakfast 7-10:30am (free ice cream 10:30-11), Brunch 10:30-12am, Lunch 12-2:30pm, snacks 2:30-4:30pm, Children’s Afternoon Tea 5:45-6:30pm (hot-cold dishes, snacks, baby food upon request), and themed buffet Dinner 6:30-9pm). Breakfast includes a continental option, featuring fruit, pastries, cereals and yoghurt. A full English breakfast includes any combination of sausage, bacon (or a choice of Quorn sausage/vegetarian bacon), fried bread, tomato, saute potatoes, grilled mushrooms, plum tomatoes, baked beans, black pudding. Omelettes are also available to order. Daily chef's specialities consist of eggs benedict, kedgeree, grilled gammon and eggs, corned beef hash, scrambled egg with smoked salmon. Healthy options include porridge, smoothies, fruit salad, poached eggs on wholemeal toast. The self-service drinks include fruit juice and special teas such as camomile and decaffeinated.
  • Beach House (casual evening eatery situated within the Horizon and replacing the Pennant Grill, features GBP5 supplement for dinner and menu including favourites like buffalo wings, tiger prawns, crispy bacon, cheese potato skins to start, macaroni cheese, Cajun chicken Caesar salad, fillet of beef on lava rock and burgers for mains, desserts including chocolate fudge cake and cheesecake. A few items carry an additional charge, like GBP2.95 for lava rock beef, GBP5.95 for lobster. Open for dinner between 7:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Booking recommended. 
  • Pennant Grill & Bar (alfresco specialty restaurant/surcharge GBP8.50-11.50 PP apply depending on cruise length; open for dinner only 7-9:30pm; with full service open air bar open 9:00 a.m. until late; it is is the location for ship's 'Sail Away' parties and lunchtime activities/themed lunches)
