Deck layout and review

Review of CMV Columbus deck 14 (Sun)

Sun Deck’s layout starts with “The Dome” – an indoor observation lounge during the day, covered with glass roof. This lounge has ample seating, large dance floor, a full-service bar and floor-ceiling panoramic windows for 180°port and ocean views. Late in the evenings (after 10:30 pm), The Dome becomes a disco nightclub.

The “V8 Simulators” room has high-speed car racing simulators, with a collection of some of the world’s most famous car racing circuits (charges per session apply).

There is a Walking/Jogging Track and Deck Games: area (quoits, giant chess board, golf putting green, shuffleboard).

The ship’s “Big Screen” is a large-size outdoor LED screen for movies, live sports games (including NRL/AFL) and show programs. There is a stage for live music and show performances, including the “Pacific Cirque” show.

Located aft are the other two of all four teen-kids lounges by the Cruise Maritime’s youth programme. The “HQ” club is for kids 11-14 yo, and the “HQ+” club is for teenagers (14-17 yo). These venues offer as activities film making, dancing classes, teen discos and “jams” (teenagers can form a music band for live performances), contests, sports competitions, talent shows, movies, Karaoke, Nintendo/PS console games, themed parties.

The Sun Deck also has outdoor sporting equipment for unique open-air activities, such as bow-ladder- and funnel climbing, trampoline jumping, net racing, Bouncing Bridge, racing through the ship, and even flying on ropes around the Atrium area.
