Palo restaurant (capacity 116 seats) is an adults-only and reservations-only Italian specialty restaurant (at surcharge $30 PP for brunch or dinner). The restaurant features floor-ceiling windows, a central location bar, 6-course menu. On 4+ day cruises here is also served brunch. Bookings can be made online (pre-cruise) or on the ship. Dress code rules are - for women (dress, pantsuit or skirt/pants with blouse) and men (trousers and collared shirts, jeans / without holes, jackets / optional). Not allowed are shorts, sandals, sneakers. Adults who come to Palo are greeted by Venetian masks, subtle decor with lantern lighting and pillars looking like gondola poles (from these the venue got its name). The private dining room for 14 guests is tucked away in the back and boasts a wall-sized mosaic of a Venetian gondolier. This intimate room is usually reserved by groups, but in case it has not been reserved, guests can come on the day of boarding and make a reservation. Dinner starts with an antipasti platter that is tableside arranged by the server. Appetizers range from crispy calamari with dipping sauces and hot peppers to gnocchi that melts in the mouth, among other choices. The souffle takes time to prepare, but it is worth it. Special touches include a frozen shot of limoncello and sorbet palate-cleanser topped with blueberry. Brunch in Palo Restaurant is held on sea days, from 10 am to 12:30 pm, still reserved for guests 18 and older. Hot items including egg dishes and fish are supplemented with a spread of cheeses and meats. Champagne is also offered, for an extra charge.
