MS Maud (2003-built as "MS Midnatsol", last refurbished in 2021 January) is one of the three advertised as “Millennium-class” newest Hurtigruten ships - together with Finnmarken (Otto Sverdrup) and Trollfjord (Eirik Raude). These ships serve Hurtigruten’s Norwegian Coastal Voyages (NCV) program for ferry and cruise travel by passenger-cargo vessels sailing regularly (year-round) along the coast of Norway and visiting a total of 34 different ports of call. MS Maud (Midnatsol) itinerary calendar has sailings between Bergen and Kirkenes, also some departures from Tromso.
The boat has 9 decks, of which 7 are passenger-accessible (all accessible via 3 elevators) and 3 with cabins.

The ship’s interior design is Norwegian summer-themed – bright, colorful, Sun-inspired, with many public spaces displaying artworks made by Norwegian artists. The ship has four cabin decks with mostly twin-bed configuration outside staterooms – all with large-size picture window views.
The ship’s original name (Midnatsol) from Norwegian translates as “Midnight Sun”.
