MS Richard With (built 1993, last refurbished in 2017) is one of the six advertised as “contemporary” Hurtigruten ships – together with Kong Harald,Nordkapp, Nordlys, Nordnorge and Polarlys. These Hurtigruten ships serve the line’s Norwegian Coastal Voyages (NCV) program for ferry and cruise travel by passenger-cargo vessels sailing regularly (year-round) along the Norway’s coast and visiting a total of 34 different ports of call. MS Richard With itinerary calendar has sailings between Bergen and Kirkenes (some departures from Tromso).
MS Richard With cruise ship deck plan has a total of 219 staterooms for 464 passengers (max capacity is 623 guests on Norwegian coastal voyages), served by 70 crew/staff (all Norwegian). The ship has 7 passenger decks (all accessed by 2 elevators), 1 car lift (connecting decks 2 & 3 only), 4 bars, 5 lounges, Spa/Sauna, Fitness, 2 jacuzzies. The ship’s interior design features many beautifully decorated public spaces displaying artworks made by Norwegian artists living in the country’s coastal regions, including some by the Harr family. The dominating color onboard is yeallow. The Richard With ship has four cabin decks with mostly twin-bed configuration outside staterooms with large-size picture windows.
The Richard With ship is named after the Hurtigruten line’s founder Richard Bernhard With (1846-1930) – a ship captain, and also Norwegian politician and businessman.
