Deck layout and review

Review of MS Vesteralen deck 6 (F-Observation)

The Sun Deck layout shows two separate sections. The aft part (Outdoor Explorer Deck) is accessible from the Promenade Deck E only, via two staircases. This is and outdoor sundeck space to enjoy the fresh air while on the ship, with an enclosed seating area with deckchairs. This is also the place for the Hurtigruten Vesteralen’s special ceremony called “Arctic Circle baptism”, which includes a Neptune-costumed crewmember, ice-cold seawater, and a free shot – for warming up. Unlike most Hurtigruten ships, ms Vesteralen doesn’t have outdoor whirlpools on its Sun Deck.

The forward section is accessible from both decks E-Promenade and G-Panorama. In this section are the Navigation Bridge and the 4 service boats (2 are used for passenger tendering and 2 are lifeboats). The fore-located Captain’s Suite and officers quarters are inaccessible to passengers.
