Paul Gauguin deck 5 plan

Deck layout and review

Review of Paul Gauguin deck 5

  • Deck 5 layout starts with the ship’s Theater named “Le Grand Salon”. This is the main show lounge with live entertainment in the evenings, featuring Polynesia-themed sing and dance shows (by Tahitian hostesses), crew show, and live music performances (song requests are always accommodated) by the ship’s resident musicians.
  • Next is the Casino, which has 2 gambling tables (blackjack and roulette) and some slot machines. Know, that due to French Polynesia/s local laws, casino opens only when the ship is at sea.
  • At the Piano Bar the evening entertainment features live music performances.
  • Also midship there are two Promenade Deck areas (midship portside and starboard) perfect for strolling and enjoying the island scenery.
  • Card Room is located starboard (with some board games).
  • The L’Etoile Restaurant (aft location) is the ship’s main dining room, but opens only for dinner (between 7-9:30pm, reservations not required). The 4-course dinners here are served, with menu featuring French cuisine and local french Polynesian specialties. The room is furnitured with roundback chairs in red and black. The sea view is from three sides.
  • Both dining rooms (L’Etoile and La Veranda) offer 3 additional dinner menus – vegetarian, light/healthy, and for dishes with no salt added.
  • The Internet Cafe (starboard) offers Internet access rates are not per minute, but based on traffic (data used). Discount Internet packages are offered, with prices like $30 (100 MBs data), $50 (250 MBs data) and $100 (750 MBs data).
