Review of RMS St Helena deck 1 (C)

  • The Dining Salon offers a waiter-served cooked breakfast, as well as a buffet for fruit, cereals and other items. There is no fixed seating for waiter-service lunch. Dinner is served in 2 sittings: at 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tables seat between 4 and 10 guests, and the larger are hosted by an officer at 2nd sitting on most evenings. The "locals" eat earlier, while tourist guests are offered 2nd sitting. Food is plain, served in generous quantities, and there is a choice of 2 or 3 dishes for an appetiser and main course. A selection of reasonably priced wines is also available.
