Review of River Royale deck 4 (Sun)

  • Navigation Bridge (called “Wheelhouse” on river cruise ships) is passenger accessible and telescopic (can be lowered for passing under low bridges). By the Bridge there is a station with bicycles and Nordic walking sticks for passengers, offered complimentary on all Uniworld tours and excursions ashore (including on individually organized tours). All bicycles have locks, helmets are provided on request.
  • Sun Deck is a spacious outdoor relaxation and sunbathing area with shaded seating (two retractable awnings), chaise loungers with cushions, double sunloungers, tables with chairs. The sundeck is the ship’s smoking area, and the best vantage point to enjoy the unobstructed countryside views along the River Royale itinerary route. Weather permitting, in the mornings here are held complimentary exercise classes (including Zumba, Yoga, Aerobics).
  • Blue Fox Cafe (added during 2014 refurbishment) is a multipurpose lounge, designed as a conservatory. It is glass-enclosed (with retractable roof and glass walls), with live plants for decoration and 14 tables (capacity 2-2-6 seats) Depending on the weather, the whole structure can be opened or closed. The Blue Fox Cafe doubles as an alternative dining venue with waiter service and light lunch menu (pizzas, pasta, burgers, seafood, salads, soups, sandwiches). After dinner, here are served drinks from the Aquitaine Bar.
  • Twice per River Royale cruise, at the Blue Fox Cafe is offered themed dinner menu with classic French cuisine dishes (complimentary). Here are also hosted daily Yoga sessions (starting at 7 am). The al-fresco Cafe also has an outdoor seating area (around the glass structure) furnished with 4-seat ironwork tables.
  • With mid-ship location is the Deck Games area with its Giant Chess board.
  • In the rear there is a sunbathing area with a Jacuzzi (whirlpool bath /towels provided) and 10 sunloungers with cushions.
