Review of ms Volendam deck 4 (Promenade)

  • Frans Hals Lounge (capacity 574 seats, level 1 of 2) is the ship’s theater and main show lounge, also serving the Holland America Line’s onboard enrichment program (via a new partnership with BBC Earth). The theater offers as entertainment daily bingo games, lectures, media presentations. In the evenings, here are presented live band music, large-scale show productions and concerts, performances by comedians, magicians, illusionists.

  • Purser Office (onboard credit, money services)
  • HAL Volendam’s Shore Excursions Desk (booking, information, planning), and Front Office (Reception/Guest Services Desk – assistance, information, reservations /bookings)
  • Art Gallery (exhibitions, purchases, art auctions; level 1 of 2)
  • Wine Tasting Bar & Gourmet Shops (wine sampling and purchasing)
  • Wajang Theatre & Culinary Arts Center (capacity 125 seats cinema and dedicated venue for cooking shows and culinary classes in demonstration kitchens/partnership with “Food & Wine Magazine”; also used for religious services)
  • Pinnacle Grill (84 seats reservations-only steakhouse and seafood specialty restaurant for lunch and dinner – surcharges PP, free for guests under 12 yo, 1/2 adult charge for teens). Via partnership with the “Le Cirque” NYC French restaurant, once per Volendam cruise this venue transforms into “An Evening at le Cirque” – higher surcharge PP, fine wine list, “Le Cirque” dinner menu)
  • Rotterdam Restaurant (capacity 792 seats aft Dining Room serving open seating Breakfast and Lunch, with 2 Dinner seating options – “Any Time” dining/on deck 5, between 5:15-9pm, or 2 fixed seatings/on deck 4 – at 5:45 or 8pm; level 1 of 2).
