Carnival Fantasy Changes Itinerary Due to Propulsion Problem

   February 23, 2016 ,   Accidents

The yesterday (February 22) sailing of Carnival Fantasy from Miami, will substitute port calls at Cozumel and Key West with visits to Nassau and Freeport, due to a technical issue causing the vessel to sail at slower speed.

According to a statement from Carnival Cruise Line, a Carnival LIVE performance by comedian Kathy Griffin, scheduled for Wednesday (Feb 24) during Fantasy's call at Cozumel, has been canceled. Cruisers who purchased tickets receive full refunds.

Passengers on the rerouted Fantasy sailing will be given US$50 onboard credit and a 25% discount off a future voyage. The line is also bringing additional onboard entertainment.

The propulsion problem began over the weekend, and the previous sailing of Carnival Fantasy called at Freeport instead of Nassau. The line said technicians continued to work to repair the issue.
