Cunard Offers Independence Day Celebration Cruise

Cunard Line announced that "love & war" comes to the high seas. Mary Matalin and James Carville are the Insights speakers onboard Queen Mary 2 during her roundtrip cruise departing New York City on July 1, 2016. The liner will visit Halifax and offers an overnight in Boston for passengers to enjoy the famed Independence Day Celebration in the city. 

Mary Matalin and James Carville are among the most well-known political consultants in America, as well as authors of the national bestsellers, All's Fair: Love, War, and Running for President and Love & War: Twenty Years, Three Presidents, Two Daughters and One Louisiana Home. Matalin and Carville will join Queen Mary 2 for a discussion named "Perspectives on the Modern Presidency" and Q&A with Entertainment Manager as part of the Insights programme.

Mary Matalin served under President Ronald Reagan, and was George H.W. Bush's Campaign director and assistant to President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. Matalin has made numerous appearances on NBC Meet the Press and hosted CNN Crossfire, critically-acclaimed debate show.

James "The Ragin' Cajun" Carville is a political commentator and media personality, as well as a prominent figure in the Democratic Party. In 1992 he helped Bill Clinton win the Presidency. Today, Carville is a contributor to This Week with George Stephanopoulos and a Professor of Practice at Tulane University, New Orleans.

Queen Mary 2 will be fresh off her 25-day dry dock and refurbishment. Debuting on the cruise ship will be 30 additional Britannia Club Staterooms, 15 new single cabins, an expanded kennel, refreshed Kings Court, new Verandah restaurant and Carinthia Lounge. Executive Chef Nicolas Oldroyd will introduce new menus across the ship.
