Royal Caribbean to Offer Private Excursion Program

By ,   March 9, 2016 ,   Cruise Industry

Royal Caribbean passengers who seek for personalized shore excursions all around the globe can now take advantage of the Private Journeys program of the line. The $100 concierge-style service enables guests to book port calls tailored to their interests, travel style and budget.

Private Journeys gives cruisers access to 1 of 9 Destination Insiders, who can help plan every detail of the shore excursion before the cruise sets sail. Activities can include sailing the French or Italian Riviera on a private yacht, cooking alongside Michelin-starred chefs, or get a taste of Alaska at a crab feast in a remote fjord.

The managing director of global tour operations for the line, Roberta Jacoby, calls Private Journeys an "evolution" of the existing shore excursion program of Royal Caribbean, that enables the company to:

"offer guests the bespoke travel destination experience of their dreams, even if they don't know exactly what that is yet. As travelers continue to seek out more personalized and immersive destination experiences that can be intimately shared with only their family and friends, Private Journeys empowers guests to make that a reality and a seamless element of their Royal Caribbean vacation."

The $100 fee for Private Journeys is applicable to excursion's final cost. To celebrate the launch of the new program, RCI is waiving the requirement on all bookings through the end of March.
