Next year Puerto Rico will welcome the two largest cruise ships in the world for the first time.

The executive director of Puerto Rico Tourism Company, Ingrid Rivera, said that in 2016 Royal Caribbean Allure and Oasis of the Seas will bring 60,000 travelers to San Juan. The visits are expected to produce an estimated USD 6.4 million in revenue.

Rivera added the ships would visit the U.S. territory ten times next year. Each of the ships has a capacity for nearly 6,300 passengers.

The government of Puerto Rico is pushing to attract more ships amid an 8-year recession.

Last month the island received the record 17,847 cruise passengers in one day.
