AIDAprima to Take First Guests

The newly delivered cruise ship AIDAprima is in Singapore loading forty containers of equipment on her stopover en route to Europe from Japan. During the transit to Hamburg, Germany the 900 crew onboard are preparing to receive their first cruise passengers.

The container contents is to be used to stock the shops in ship's 2,200 sq.meter shopping arcade, named AIDA Plaza, and the art gallery. Sound and light settings in the new Theatrium, Four Elements and Beach Club are going to be tested. AIDA Show Ensemble has started rehearsing.

Today (March 22), Capt. Detlef Harms is giving the command to set sail to next stage. AIDAprima arrives at Salalah, Oman March 29.

Hamburg will be the homeport for 7-day round-trips to western European capitals, starting April 30. Before that, the AIDA Cruises line is offering an additional 4-day cruise sailing out of Hamburg to Southampton, April 25. Prices start at €499 per person.

Earlier this month, AIDAprima was handed over by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki, after a lengthy building saga.
