HAL Increases Mexican Riviera Capacity 2016-2017

Holland America Line is expanding deployment in 2016-2017 with more Mexican Riviera cruises and a bigger ship. By passenger count, the capacity of the company there will more than double.

HAL's president Orlando Ashford revealed a strengthened program to the Mexican Rivera from San Diego. The line is increasing capacity with a bigger Vista-class vessel to the region. During October 2016 - February 2017, ms Westerdam will sail thirteen 7-day round-trip cruises from San Diego, including 2 special holiday departures in December 2016.

'Mexico has it all, and with convenient round-trip San Diego cruises, we know that these itineraries are going to attract a lot of cruisers looking for a unique warm-weather vacation,' said Ashford.

To kick off season, 1,916-passenger ms Westerdam departs from Vancouver, BC on October 18 on an 11-day repositioning voyage that calls at Santa Barbara CA, before arriving in San Diego and continuing on to Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. The ship then sails back to San Diego. Cruisers can take a 7-day portion by embarking October 22 in San Diego following the port call at Santa Barbara.

For the remainder of season, through February 7, the itinerary of Westerdam features Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlán, with three sea days.
