The latest in a quite busy period of ship keel-layings took place at Fincantieri's Ancona yard yesterday when the first, 280-ton block of Viking Sun, was put into place. The ship is the 4th in the series of six Viking Ocean Cruises' ships.

The 47,800 GT Viking Sun is scheduled for delivery in late 2017. The ship can accommodate 930 passengers, just like her sisters Viking Star (built in 2015 at Marghera), the recently delivered from Ancona Viking Sea (currently on her inaugural cruise) and Viking Sky (due for delivery February 2017 from Ancona).
