Cunard will add two new dining venues, The Verandah Restaurant and Carinthia Lounge, to its remastered liner Queen Mary 2, plus enhance other restaurants.

The major refit of the ship, which starts May 27, will replace The Winter Garden with Carinthia Lounge, to offer alternative breakfast, lunchtime options and premium coffees. The current Mediterranean restaurant onboard Queen Mary 2, Todd English, will become The Verandah, serving contemporary French cuisine.

The buffet-style Kings Court will be completely transformed, with addition of a Smokehouse alternative dining concept.

Passengers staying in suites will receive new menus in refurbished settings by the Princess Grill and Queens Grill restaurants.

Britannia Restaurant, Golden Lion pub and Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar will all boast refreshed menus.

Cunard Line has created many of the new menus in its development kitchen in Southampton.

Angus Struthers, Cunard's Marketing director, said:

"We are pleased to debut refreshed culinary offerings on Queen Mary 2 Remastered, which we have created to appeal to the most discerning guests while revitalising classic dishes and creating new ones".

QM2 undergoes a 25-day dry-dock refurbishment from May 27 at Blohm + Voss Shipyard (Hamburg, Germany), before sailing out of Hamburg, via Southampton, to New York City on June 21.
