Fred Olsen Forced to Cancel Black Watch Departure

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines was forced to cancel the next Black Watch cruise following a fire onboard the ship.

The vessel was due to depart from Tilbury on July 8 on a Norwegian fjords itinerary but the sailing had to be cancelled.

Fred Olsen blamed “technical and operational issues” onboard for the cancellation. The line had to fly about 700 passengers home on special charter flights out of Madeira after a voyage in the Atlantic was shortened.

The fire damaged 3 of ship’s 7 auxiliary engines on Friday, July 1, affecting power onboard Black Watch.
