Seabourn brought its smoking policy in line with other luxury cruise companies. The line banned smoking in all indoor venues and on balconies. The policy goes into effect later in 2016.

Smoking will no longer be allowed on Seabourn passenger's cabin balconies, nor will be permitted in the ships' Observation Lounge (currently allowing smoking after 8:00 p.m.) Smoking will still be banned within passenger cabins and in other indoor public spaces.

Smoking is still allowed on the starboard half of Sky Bar located on Deck 9 (Deck 10 on Seabourn Encore) and on the open terrace's starboard half aft of The Club (Deck 5). Passengers can smoke not just cigarettes but cigars and pipes on the open terrace aft of Deck 7's Seabourn Square. E-cigarettes are allowed in guest cabins. No other smoking devices are currently allowed onboard.

The new policy goes into effect November and December, on ship-by-ship basis, as follows:

Passengers who don't comply with smoking policies and light up in cabins/cabin balconies will be fined US$250 per day as cleaning fee.
