The fire broke out Saturday evening (April 18) at around 7 p.m. not long after the 65,153 GT cruise ship departed Miami, Florida. The damage was minor and no injuries have been reported.
The news broke via @PTZtv first and they mentioned a viewer of one of the web cameras heard radio messages between the ship and the US Coast Guard.
P&O Oriana requested tugs to assist her back to Port Miami after the fire was extinguished.
AIS tracking systems showed the ship leaving for Key West and turning around shortly after leaving the cruise port.
Oriana left the Port of Miami on April 19 around 8:20 a.m.
