The Coast Guard is searching for a 32-year-old cruise passenger who reportedly fell overboard from Carnival Ecstasy near the Bahamas.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, crew members onboard the Carnival ship said a woman "was reportedly seen falling overboard". A spokesperson for the line said the ship passenger "was witnessed jumping overboard." The woman was in a white dress with pink floral.
The ship was around 15 miles off Grand Bahama Island's coast at the time, the line said. Coast Guard boat and air crews launched a search.
A spokesperson for Carnival said in a statement:
"The company’s CareTeam is providing assistance and support to the missing guest’s family on board and our thoughts and prayers are with her and family and loved ones during this difficult time."
