For the second time this year, Princess Cruises raises the daily gratuities automatically charged to guests' onboard accounts.

The new charge, which affects all sailings departing on/after December 15, will increase from US$12.95 to US$13.50 for interior, ocean view and balcony stateroom passengers (adults and kids). Those in suites and mini-suites will no longer pay the same amount of US$13.95. Under the new policy, mini-suite (including Club Class) guests will be charged US$14.50 and suite guests US$15.50.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises last raised its automatic service charge in January.

An email sent by the line to its passengers said that the changes "ensure our guest service on board remains among the best in the cruise industry."

Princess also indicated that passengers can prepay gratuities through November 15 at the current rate. Those who booked with promotions including gratuities wouldn't be affected.

The latest gratuities change of Princess cruises follows similar moves made by Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises this year.
