With the announcement, the line published itineraries for the ship through March 2017, rotating between Eastern and Western Caribbean and calling in St. Maarten, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, the Bahamas and Mexico.
According to Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC, North America was a key market for the line as the company worked to double its capacity by 2022.
PortMiami welcomed MSC Cruises for the 1st time in November 2013, namely with MSC Divina. MSC soon announced plans to deploy a new ship, MSC Seaside, from Miami starting November 2017. The Seaside is expected to offer year-round sailings to the Caribbean.
MSC Miami-based operations will benefit from a newly expanded and renovated berth and terminal at PortMiami.
MSC Divina cruises through March 2017 go on sale Friday, May 1. MSC said it would offer clients a shipboard credit, WiFi and beverage package, depending on the cabin category booked.
The line will also offer flat commission of 18% for group bookings, along with shipboard credit for passengers in the group and complimentary stateroom upgrades.
