Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre confirmed that two ships – Norwegian Breakaway and Oceania Insignia – have altered their schedules ahead of Tropical Storm Karl.

NCL Breakaway left yesterday at 1:00 p.m. instead of 3:00 p.m., while ms Insignia cancelled her visit to Bermuda on September 25 and 26.

The island is preparing for the Tropical Storm Karl, with Bermuda Weather Service saying it was a “threat to Bermuda” and issuing Tropical Storm Warning.

At 6:00 a.m. yesterday the forecast said Karl had maximum sustained winds close to 95 km/h (60 mph) and its closest point of approach would be 54 nm to the south-southeast at 3:00 a.m. today.
