USCG Medevacs Princess Cruises' Crew Member

The DVIDS (Defense Imagery Distribution System) reported that the U.S Coast Guard (USCG) has medevaced a 47-year-old crew member from Ruby Princess cruise ship early yesterday morning.

The air medevac has taken place when the vessel was around 9 miles (14.5 km) southwest of Point Loma, San Diego.

Ruby Princess has contacted the USCG in San Diego late Friday night at 11:35 P.M., reporting that a crew member was experiencing heart attack symptoms.

The Coast Guard deployed MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter at 1:00 A.M. which hoisted the man at 2:05 A.M. The crew member was transferred to an ambulance after the helicopter returned to its San Diego base and taken to local hospital.
