The Port of Civitavecchia will get a brand new cruise terminal with construction set to start November, 2016.

The busy cruise port situated on Italy’s west coast and just 50 miles away from Rome will get a 10,000-Square-meter modern facility, able to handle 4,500 passengers.

The 20 Million Euro development is impressive where 9,000 pieces of luggage can be stored and scanned. The terminal called 12 B North is just one of two new developments for the Italian port. Another smaller Terminal 12 will be built with further details released soon.

The building will have a 3000 square foot baggage claim area and a large 4,400 square foot waiting area. There will be plenty of room for bus parking as well as taxi drop off and pick-up. The new terminal will bring the Port of Rome inline with leading cruise ports like Barcelona in Spain.

The cruise terminal is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
