P&O Cruises revealed further information on their plans for the refurbishment of the 69,000-tonne, 1,800-guest Oriana cruise ship next month.

The adult-only ship will undergo a 3-week refurbishment that will see staterooms, restaurants and all public spaces updated before the end of 2016. Cabins and suites will receive new soft furnishings, refreshed furniture and upgraded bathrooms, while other areas to receive an upgrade include Lord’s Tavern sports bar, Riviera Bar, The Conservatory restaurant, the ship's Oasis Spa and gym, and the Theatre Royal.

The Oasis Spa will receive new tiling in the thermal area, plus modern new furniture and gym equipment. Passengers can also expect luxurious heated loungers and a living plant wall in the spa area. The ship's Theatre Royal will benefit from fresh seating upholstery and new sound and lighting equipment.

The line has also revealed that the ship's upgrades are based on passenger feedback, with "a range of subtle upgrades that will have a big impact without losing any of the ship’s unique charm."
