A covered open-air pavilion opened on the wharf of Papetoai, tender port for cruise ships on Tahitian island of Moorea.

Stallholders sell various local arts and crafts when ships visit the picturesque bay, with its crystal clear water and mountain backdrop.

It is also the base for shore trips and local transport operators.

Work started in 2015 and the opening coincided with the first anniversary of the South Pacific Cruise Forum, held last October in Papeete.

It was financed partly by Fonds de Developpement de la Croisiere, Cruise Development Fund, that raises money from fees for cruise calls and passenger head counts.
