Scenic marked the start of production of the first Discovery Yacht in the world, Scenic Eclipse, with an official steel cutting ceremony last month (November 22) at Uljanik Shipyard JSC in Pula, Croatia, a year after the signing of the shipbuilding contract.

The 228-passenger 6-star ultra-luxury mega yacht designed especially for polar cruising conditions will be delivered in August 2018.

“This is a momentous day for Scenic,” said Glen Moroney, Chairman.

“To see our vision start to come to life is very exciting and we look forward to watching the build progress over the next couple of years. We are extremely proud of the ship’s design and its advanced technological features, and can’t wait to share Scenic Eclipse with our guests in 2018.”

Scenic Eclipse features 114 all-verandah suites, from the spacious 32sqm Verandah Suite to the truly luxurious 233 m2 two-bedroom Owner’s Penthouse Suite. With intimate guest numbers comes a wealth of public space including a choice of six on board dining options, a number of spacious bars and lounges, a 240 seat theatre and a 450 m2 spa retreat. With an almost 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio, Scenic Eclipse is the epitome of 6-star luxury.

Scenic Eclipse has been designed by a collaboration of internal and external naval architects including Foreship in Finland and and Oliver Design from Spain, and the ship is being built by Uljanik Group in Croatia. The opulent interiors have been designed by Karen Moroney.
