Gibraltar port expects a total of 257 cruise visits in 2017 bringing more than 400,000 passengers. Some of these are inaugural calls. The numbers are an increase of 2016 figures when 225 calls and a total of 350,000 passengers visited the Rock.

In July 2016 Gorham’s Cave complex was granted UNESCO World Heritage Status. Shore excursions are planned to showcase the newest attraction. The cave is named after Captain A.Gorham of 2nd Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers. He discovered it in 1907, when opening fissure at the rear of sea cavern.

Gorham is considered to be one of the last habitations of Neanderthals in Europe. They're our closest extinct human relative. The Europeans have up to 2.5% of their DNA. In 2012 symbolic rock engravings were discovered.
