Many who decided to get off say they're still making a trip out of it. Carnival offered passengers a 100% refund if they decided to get off and not take the cruise to nowhere.

Passengers who stay on will get a 50% refund and 50% off a future cruise plus a $50 onboard credit.

The ship set sail around 9:30 p.m.
