Carnival Updates WiFi Service

Carnival Cruise Line is currently updating their cruise ship WiFi service and the option to pre-purchase internet will be available on all 25 Carnival Funships by this summer.

Starting April 19, the line will offer the option to pre-purchase internet plans aboard Carnival Fascination and Carnival Vista by accessing ‘Manage My Booking’ on Passengers may select any plan for the duration of the cruise. The option to pre-purchase will be offered fleet-wide by mid-summer.

The Carnival WiFi plans that can be purchased for either the entire cruise or for a 24 hour period at a discounted rate include:

  • Social (US$5 per day) – offers access the most popular applications and websites. Includes access to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and the most popular airline websites. Does not include Snapchat, Facetime, iMessage, in-app calling or access to any other apps or websites.
  • Value (US$16 per day) – offers access to all sites and apps, including e-mail, news, banking, sports, weather, social media, and more. Does not support music streaming (like Spotify) or Skype calling.
  • Premium (US$25 per day) – offers the fastest possible connection, at speeds up to three times faster than the Value Plan, where coverage allows. The Premium plan inncludes access to all apps and websites, including streaming services. It supports Skype video calling, where coverage allows.

On Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Glory, the line only offers the option to buy the Social Plan for the entire cruise length (US$5 per day, per cruise duration).

Guests may upgrade easily from one plan to another and can use multiple devices per plan, such as line's onboard computers, but only one device at a time. All Carnival plans exclude video streaming (like Hulu or Netflix). Also not supported are the cellular-network-dependent WiFi Calling and Facetime services. Printing is provided at no charge.

To select the plan which best suits guests' needs, they simply have to purchase a plan once onboard. Currently, for a number ships, passengers can purchase an internet plan (for the duration of the cruise) before their cruise by accessing ‘Manage My Booking’ on
