Carnival Cruise Line, boasting entertainers who stage over 12,000 song and dance acts per year aboard its 25 cruise ships, raised the curtain on its massive rehearsal studio in Davie.

The operator unveiled its new Broward County 44,500 ft2 facility, where over 500 performers will meet twice per year to perfect the shipboard performances.

The USD 5 million facility on Davie Road, dubbed Carnival Studios, has 8 music studios, 5 full-stage dance studios, a green room, a training room and offices for the entertainment department of Carnival.

The new rehearsal spot is equipped with the latest technology in digital sound, recording and lighting. Every main theater stage across the fleet has been replicated in the full-scale studios.

One of its cutting-edge features is the 480 ft2 LED screen found inside one of the dance studios, a key backdrop for the line’s Playlist Productions shows.

14 different shows will be in rehearsal each week, in addition to developing new productions, Carnival announced.

Among the new shows will be Amor Cubano, which debuted in 2016 on Carnival Vista, now sailing from Miami.

Entertainers on cruise ships out of Port Everglades like Carnival Conquest are also expected to rehearse at the new studio.
