The latest cruise ship to visit Liverpool was given a spectacular send-off today.
Celebrity Cruises Eclipse was in the port city for the first time, and took centre stage at a party to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the terminal.
The liner arrived in Liverpool at 8:00 a.m. this morning from Greenock and headed to Dublin as part of a 14-day UK & Ireland cruise.
Celebrity Eclipse set sail at 5:45 pm Party organisers from Cruise Liverpool had planned a lively quayside concert from 4:45-5:15 pm featuring live music and performances from Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Summer of Love.
A burst of confetti was released to mark the departure of the ship in style. Spectators were treated to a great view from Princes Parade next to Gate 4.
Liverpool’s cruise terminal has welcomed a total of 355 cruise ships since its opening in 2007.
