At about 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, the cruise of 3 men from West Indies who had come to Belize to tour Harvest Caye onboard Norwegian Escape, was completed.

Jamal Nathus Celise, of St. Lucia, Derson Frank and Renaldo Kerron Roberts, both of St. Vincent, were arrested and charged with 2 counts of drug trafficking after the authorities on the NCL ship found more than 2 kilos of cocaine in the stateroom they were occupying.

On Wednesday, June 21, they were taken to Independence Magistrate’s Court and remanded to Belize Central Prison until August 30, 2017.

The security officers onboard Norwegian Escape told police that while conducting their routine inspection when the ship docked at Harvest Caye, they found the cocaine in the cabin. The 3 men were handed over to Placencia police.
