Fosen Yard Forms a Joint Venture with Chinese Shipbuilder

Fosen Yard, Norway has formed a joint venture with Hantong Shipbuilding, China, to build cruise, roro and ropax vessels.

The new joint venture, named Fosen Hantong, will involve the establishment of a design and development company in Trondheim Norway, in order to provide technology and marine design as part of the solution they are offering to customers.

In a statement, Fosen explained that Hantong would secure “high production capacity, high quality production and also add financial strength and accommodate for financing arrangements when required”.

Fosen Yard has “market leading resources, knowhow, technical and operational solutions to enable Fosen Hantong to offer full scope, advanced projects within the roro, ropax and cruise segments”.

Fosen is currently designing Color Hybrid, the largest hybrid battery ship in the world.
