The most luxurious river cruise line in the world, Crystal River Cruises, announced that famed soprano vocalist and German performer, Anna-Maria Kaufmann, will serve as the godmother of Crystal Bach.
The newbuilt "Rhine Class" river ship embarked on a maiden voyage out of Amsterdam on Sunday, August 13. Crystal Bach will be christened by Anna-Maria Kaufmann during her visit to Rüdesheim on August 20.
Kaufmann's career has spanned the globe, bringing the singer from her native Edmonton to some of the most prestigious stages in the world. As Crystal Bach's godmother, Anna-Maria Kaufmann will bless the ship during the official christening ceremony, and serenade her a special performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Air."
Crystal River Cruises' Crystal Bach is the first of 4 Crystal "Rhine Class" river vessels to debut on the European rivers, joining Crystal Mozart as part of the fleet recently named by Travel + Leisure "World's Best River Cruise Line".
Sailing 10- and 14-day cruises predominantly along Rhine River, she will visit medieval towns and contemporary hubs in Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland.
