After initially adding less expensive packages and faster Internet speeds on three of its vessels, Carnival Cruise Line made the offerings available on another nine ships, with plans to include the majority of fleet by October.

According to John Heald, Senior Cruise Director, more speedy Web access had rolled out on Carnival Breeze, Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Elation, Carnival Fascination, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Imagination, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Pride, Carnival Sensation, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Victory.

Heald said that the next ships would be Carnival Conquest, Carnival Dream and Carnival Glory, and by October Carnival's executives hoped to have most of fleet completed.

Included on the new list of notably cheaper connectivity packages is a $5 per-day package, allowing guests to connect to social media, such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. However, such a package does not allow access to the entire internet. A package for $16 per day allows unlimited access to the entire net, except bandwidth-intensive services such as music streaming services and Skype. Heavy internet users who want streaming and Skype can buy a $25 per-day package.
