Federal Grand Jury Indicts Spouse on Murder Charges in Death Aboard Cruise Ship

On Thursday, August 17, a federal grand jury indicted the husband of a female passenger found dead aboard a cruise ship in July in her murder.

39-year-old Kenneth Manzanares is charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Kristy Manzanares, his wife, aboard Emerald Princess in Southeast Alaska.

Mrs. Manzanares was found dead aboard the cruise ship after what the cruise line specified a “domestic dispute.” The couple were celebrating a wedding anniversary with their family.

Kenneth Manzanares is represented by federal public defenders Jamie McGrady and F.Richard Curtner. If convicted, he could face life in prison or death penalty, as well as a fine of up to US$250,000.
