Cruise Passenger Medevaced From Pacific Explorer

A P&O Cruises ship was forced to make an emergency stop off Fraser Coast in order to allow a cruise passenger to be winched to hospital.

The 23-year-old woman was medevaced from Pacific Explorer via a LifeFlight Aircrewman and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, August 21.

The traveller, currently in a stable condition, suffered a medical episode while on vacation and was transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital.

The ship was approx 74 km off Fraser Coast when the passenger had to be rescued.
