A St. George man who was charged with first-degree murder in connection with July 25 death of his wife on a cruise ship pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, August 23.

39-year-old Kenneth Manzanares appeared in court yesterday via teleconference and his attorney entered the plea for him.

Last week, Manzanares was indicted in the death of 39-year-old Kristy Manzanares. Kristy died aboard Princess Cruises' Emerald Princess off the Alaskan coast.

A hearing on whether prosecutors will seek death penalty in the case is expected later in 2017.
